If I know one thing for sure since landing in LA a week and a half ago, it's that the fabulous Essie Golden throws a killer pool party. I walked in by myself, proceeded to run into plus model Sheila Lopez, whom I met last month at Curvy Con in NY, then met one truly fantastic woman after another. I wish I could go to this party every month!

It was great to see press coverage of the event from Cosmo. Far too often, I feel like the classic women's mags we all grew up with have been slow to get on the body positive train, but writers like Laura Beck are giving visibility to the movement in a really beautiful way. 

Random Sidenote: True story, I met the brilliant and hilarious years ago when I worked at Yelp and she was a Yelp Elite member in San Francisco, and I ended up buying her Sidekick phone off of her (remember those?). Fast forward to the 2016 Golden Confidence Pool Party in LA and we're both having a ball celebrating bodies of all shapes and sizes.
