So, This Just Happened...American Apparel Rocked Me

So, a couple of years ago, I asked the question of whether American Apparel still sucked after POS perv Dov Charney was finally booted in a blogpost. At the time, the company had not been sold, and the CEO at the helm wasn't exactly popular with the factory workers.

Then, they got bought, and all the stores began to close, and we all jumped on the massive sales and store clean outs (a friend of mine took every table and rack available from one AA store here in LA and put them all in her own boutique). I felt sad for the people who lost their jobs, and hopeful that whatever would spring up in its place would still be ethical, but like, with a leader who isn't creepy.

Fast-forward to now, where American Apparel is back up and running out of different locations under new leadership and still ethical, but without the problematic AF former founder Ding Dong Charney.

I've been browsing American Apparel's website lately to see if they have anything in plus sizes yet, but the pickins are slim to none for plus women unless plain t-shirts are your jam.

So yesterday, I tweet something out about how much I'm digging their terry cloth stuff (because ask any of my fashion friends, and they will tell you I p much can't shut up about my need for 70s style terry cloth shorts and rompers in my life and my size) and wish they had it all in size fat.

And then today, I get this:

So now, we wait and see what happens, but KIDS, I think the fashion gods are hearing my prayers for more ethical plus size fashion to fill our colorful, body positive lives!

Stay tuned, I can't wait to share what I find out!
